Ortho stages describe the specific actions and activities to be performed during each ortho set.

Ortho stage codes consist of a code and description to describe a specific task or action. Additionally, if the stage is tied to an appointment, default appointment information can be specified.

The Stage Codes window is used to create and manage the ortho stage codes used by your institution.

Field Description
Code

A text field that indicates the code that identifies the ortho stage.
Description

A text field that describes the ortho stage.
Default Minutes

A text field that indicates the default length for appointments scheduled for this stage.

Note: If the Has Appointment checkbox is selected, this value must be a multiple of 5 and greater than 0.

Note: If the appointment lengths vary between different provider types, you can overwrite this default in the Stage Default Time window.
Has Appointment

A checkbox that, when selected, indicates that this stage requires a patient appointment.  When deselected, the stage can be completed without an appointment.

Example: A financial consultation may be completed without the patient present for an appointment.
Appointment Background Color

A color bar that indicates the background color to display in the Scheduler module when configured to display ortho stage colors.
Task Procedure
Add Stage Codes
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Edit Stage Codes
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.

    3. Note: Once a stage code is created, the Code field cannot be modified.
Delete Stage Codes
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Preview/Print Report
  1. (Optional) To preview the Stage Codes report, click the Preview Report () icon.
  2. To print the Stage Codes report, click the Print Report () icon.

    3. Note: The Stage Codes reports uses the stage.rpt file.
Specify Provider Type Time Exceptions
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Stage Time Length () icon to display the Stage Default Time Window.
  2. Enter the stage information as required.

If the appointment lengths specified for a stage vary between different provider types, you can overwrite this time in the Stage Default Time window. It displays when you open the Stage Codes window, select a listed code and click the Stage Time Length () icon.

A read-only field that indicates the selected stage code.
Description

A read-only field that indicates the selected stage description.
Provider Type

A drop-down list that indicates the provider type.
Minutes

A text field the indicates the default length of time needed for this provider type during appointments for the selected stage.
Task Procedure
Add Stage Default Times
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.

  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.
Delete Stage Default Times
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
