Discipline Codes Window

Discipline codes are used to identify the different disciplines that are used for evaluations. Each evaluation discipline is linked to a treatment discipline. There can be more than one grading discipline linked to a treatment discipline. Also, each evaluation discipline can be set up to trigger the use of a specific grading form.

The Discipline Codes window allows you to manage the discipline codes used at your institution.

Field Description
Code

A text field that indicates the unique code that identifies the discipline.
Tx. Class

A drop-down list of the treatment discipline that this grading discipline relates to.

Note: This list is populated from the Tx Disciplines window.

Description

A text field that describes the discipline.

Import Code

A text field that indicates the unique import code used when schedules are imported and the discipline is stamped on the chairs.
Color

A color bar that indicates the color to display in the Scheduler module when using ideal days for scheduling.
Swipe Code

A text field that indicates the code that, when entered, is required when faculty with this discipline use their swipe card.

Note: This can be used in conjunction with the Discipline Forms window so that when a faculty swipes their card, the default grade form displays automatically for grading.

Grading Type

A drop-down list that indicates the grading type associated with this discipline:

  • Provider Based: A form displays based on the provider's setting in the Clinical section of the Provider tab of the Users window.
  • Sessional: A sessional form displays when a procedure with this discipline is completed.
  • Periodic: A periodic form displays when a procedure with this discipline is completed.
  • Not Graded: No form displays when a procedure with this discipline is completed.
Task Procedure
Add Discipline Codes
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Edit Discipline Codes
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.

    3. Note: Once a code is created, the Code field cannot be modified.
Manage Discipline Forms
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Discipline Default Forms () icon to display the Discipline Forms window.
  2. Make changes as necessary and close the window.
Delete Discipline Codes
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Preview/Print Report
  1. (Optional) To preview the Grading Disciplines report, click the Preview Report () icon.
  2. To print the Grading Disciplines report, click the Print Report () icon.

    3. Note: The Discipline Codes report uses the grd_disc.rpt file.

Discipline Forms Window

(Maintenance > Evaluations > Discipline Codes)

The Discipline Forms window allows you to define a default form to display when a student from a specific year completes a treatment with the discipline. It displays when you open the Discipline Codes window, select a listed discipline and click the Discipline Default Forms () icon.

Field Description
Discipline

A disabled field that indicates the selected discipline.
Year

A text field that indicates the year of study that this record applies to.
Form

A text field that indicates the grading form code.

The ellipsis is used to display the Grading Forms window and select a form.

Task Procedure
Add Discipline Forms
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Edit Discipline Forms
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.
Delete Discipline Forms
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
