Missed Appointment Codes Window

Missed appointment codes are used when cancelling and failing appointments to explain the reason for the missed appointment. Additionally, missed appointment codes can be configured to change the patient a missed appointment fee.

The Missed Appointment Codes window allows you to manage the list of missed appointment codes and any associated charges.

Field Description
Type

A drop-down list that indicates how results are filtered based on the Type:

  • Cancel
  • Fail
Code

A text field that indicates the code that identifies the missed appointment code.
Inactive

A checkbox that, when selected, indicates the field is inactive and not in use.
Default

A checkbox that, when selected, indicates that this is the default code to use when adding missed appointments of this type.
Reason A text field that explains why the appointment was missed.
Academic Cancellation (excused with reason)

A checkbox that, when selected, indicates that this cancellation was triggered by the school and not the patient. field

Note: This checkbox is only enabled if the the Type field is set to Cancel and cannot have an associated office charge.

Office Charge

A text field that indicates that this missed appointment code has an associated fee.

The ellipsis is used to display Office Charge Codes window and select a charge.
Task Procedure
Add Missed Appointment Codes
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Edit Missed Appointment Codes
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.

    Tip: If you do not see the code in the list, change the Type to view the list of the other type of codes.
Delete Missed Appointment Codes
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.

    Tip: If you do not see the code in the list, change the Type to view the list of the other type of codes.
Preview/Print Report
  1. (Optional) To preview the Missed Appointment Codes report, click the Preview Report () icon.
  2. To print the Missed Appointment Codes report, click the Print Report () icon.

    3. Note: The Missed Appointment Codes report uses the cancel.rpt file.
