Appointment Indicators Window

Appointment indicators use custom functions to display information about an appointment in the scheduler. Each indicator displays as a small icon within the appointment.

Appointment indicator display settings are workstation-specific and are configured in Scheduler Options. Up to six indicators can display at one time on a workstation.

Note: Appointment indicators can impact scheduler performance. Functions should be written as optimized as possible. When you select which indicators to display, we recommend you use a few and avoid the use of All Days when you configure the display options.

The Appointment Indicators window allows you to create and manage the list of Appointment Indicators.

Important: These indicators require an Oracle function to be created in your database. For more information on working with functions, please contact axiUm Support.

Field Description
Code

A text field that indicates the code that identifies the appointment indicator.
Description A text field that describes the appointment indicator.
Function

A text field that indicates the Oracle function used by this indicator.

The name must exactly match the name of the function in the database.
Color

A color bar that indicates the color used for this indicator.

Depending on the Appointment Indicator Values, the color is used for the indicator’s text color or background color.

Display For

A drop-down list that indicates which day(s) this indicator is calculated and displayed in the Scheduler:

  • All Days: Calculates and displays the indicator for all appointments (past, present and future).

  • Today Only: Calculates and displays the indicator for the current day’s appointments only.

  • Today plus... (the next _ days): Calculates and displays the indicator for the current day plus the number of days specified.
Active A check box that, when selected, indicates that the indicator is active and available for use.
Task

Procedure
Add Appointment Indicators
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Enter a Description and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Specify Indicator Values
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Appointment Indicator Values() icon to display the Appointment Indicator Values window.
  2. Specify values as required and close the window.
Edit Appointment Indicators
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.
Delete Appointment Indicators
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Preview/Print Report
  1. (Optional) To preview the Appointment Indicators report, click the Preview Report () icon.
  2. To print the Appointment Indicators report, click the Print Report () icon.

    3. Note: The Appointment Indicators reports uses the ApptIndicators.rpt file.

Appointment Indicator Values

(Maintenance > Scheduler > Appointment Indicators)

The Appointment Indicator Values window allows you to define the possible return values of the appointment indicator function, and what those values will display to the user. It displays when you open the Appointment Indicators window, select a listed indicator and click the Appointment Indicator Values () icon.

Field Description
Code

A disabled field that indicates the selected appointment indicator.
Value

A text field that indicates the return value for this record.
Description

A text field that describes the meaning of the return value.
Display Symbol A text field that indicates alphanumeric symbol used to represent this indicator (and corresponding value).
Color Inverted (Resolved)

A check box that, when deselected, indicates that the symbol displays as white text with the background color, the Color specified in the Appointment Indicators window.

When selected, the check box indicates that the test displays in the Color specified in the Appointment Indicators window, with a white background.
Task Procedure
Add Indicator Values
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Edit Indicator Values
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.
Delete Indicator Values
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
