Preventive Care Codes Window

Preventive Care (an oral health maintenance cycle) is a set of recurring recall appointments setup as a single group of planned appointments.

The Preventive Care Codes window allows you to manage the different types of preventive care cycles used at your institution.

Field Description
Code

A text field that indicates the code that identifies the preventive care cycle.
Inactive A check box that, when selected, indicates the field is inactive and not in use.
Type A drop-down list of that indicates the type of preventive care cycle:
  • Exam: Indicates that this preventive care code can only be used for exam appointments.
  • X-Ray: Indicates that this preventive care code can only be used for X-Ray appointments.
Description

A text field that describes the preventive care cycle.
Cycle (months) A text field that indicates the number of months in this preventive care cycle.
Care should be completed if it is within ___days of the hygiene appointment

A check box that, when selected, indicates when care should be completed at the hygiene appointment and not at a later appointment.

Example: If set to 30 days, and the patient has a hygiene appointment 2 weeks before an exam is due, the exam should be completed during the hygiene appointment.
Task Procedure
Add Preventive Care Codes
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Edit Preventive Care Codes
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.

    Note: Once a code is created, the Code field cannot be modified.
Delete Preventive Care Codes
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Preview/Print Report
  1. (Optional) To preview the Preventive Care Codes report, click the Preview Report () icon.
  2. To print the Preventive Care Codes report, click the Print Report () icon.

    3. Note: The Preventive Care Codes report uses the Recall PrevCare.rpt.
