Ethnicity Codes Window

The Ethnicity Codes window allows you to manage codes that indicate the ethnicity that a patient identifies as.

Field Description
Code

A text field that indicates the code that identifies the ethnicity.
Inactive A check box that, when selected, indicates the field is inactive and not in use.
Description A text field that indicates the name of the ethnicity.
Category

A drop-down list that indicates how the ethnicity is classified:

  • Hispanic or Latino

  • Not Hispanic or Latino

    • Note: This list is hard-coded and cannot be changed.

Note: This field is for US institutions only.
Task Procedure
Add Ethnicity Codes
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Edit Ethnicity Codes
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.

    Note: Once an ethnicity code is created, the Code cannot be modified.
Delete Ethnicity Codes
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Preview/Print Report
  1. (Optional) To preview the Ethnicity Codes report, click the Preview Report () icon.
  2. To print the Ethnicity Codes report, click the Print Report () icon.

    3. Note: The Ethnicity Codes report uses the Ethnicity.rpt file.
