Claim Status Categories Window

Claim Status Categories are standardized HIPAA X12N codes that give feedback from the insurance carrier on the status of a submitted claim or pre-authorization.

The Claim Status Categories window allows you to review and manage these codes.

Note: Several types of predefined HIPAA (X12N) standardized codes are required for the Auto Remittance module. These are loaded by axiUm Support at the time of installation. You are responsible for any changes required after installation.

Field Description
Code

A text field that indicates the unique code that identifies the claim status category.
Description

A text field that indicates the text that displays in axiUm.
Is Rejection

A checkbox that, when selected, indicates that the category is used for 835 rejections.

Note: Some insurance companies send rejections using 835, while others send rejections using 277 response files.

Show Response A checkbox that, when selected, indicates that the claim status category code and description should display for each response file.
Task Procedure
Add Claim Status Categories
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Edit Claim Status Categories
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.
Delete Claim Status Categories
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Preview/Print Report
  1. (Optional) To preview the Claim Status Categories report, click the Preview Report () icon.
  2. To print the Claim Status Categories report, click the Print Report () icon.

    3. Note: The Claim Status Categories report uses the clmstcat.rpt file.
