Medical Alert Codes Window

Medical alert codes are used to make sure the provider is aware of any serious medical conditions the patient may have. This ensures safe treatment for patients and allows the provider to avoid risks to them.

Examples: Allergic to penicillin, HIV positive, Requires antibiotics before exam due to bone implant.

When a selected patient has a medical alert, they display as a red indicator on the status bar and can be viewed in several modules throughout axiUm.

The Medical Alert Codes window allows you to configure the list of medical codes.

Field Description
Code

A text field that indicates the code that identifies the medical alert.
Inactive

A check box that, when selected, indicates the field is inactive and not in use.
Description

A text field that describes the medical alert.

 
Default Note A text field that indicates the default note that axiUm displays when users review this medical alert code.
Color

A color bar that indicates the text color to display for this alert.

Tip: Use a color that stands out and is easy to read.

Task Procedure
Add Medical Alert Codes
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.

Edit Medical Alert Codes

  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.
Delete Medical Alert Codes
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Preview/Print Report
  1. (Optional) To preview the Medical Alert Codes report, click the Preview Report () icon.
  2. To print the Medical Alert Codes report, click the Print Report () icon.

    3. Note: The Medical Alert Codes report uses the alertd2.rpt file.
