Dental Problem List Window

The Dental Problem List window allows you to search for and manage dental problems.

Field Description
Criteria

A text field that is used to enter your search criteria.

Tip: You can enter the first few characters of the word, or enter an underscore (_) to return all results.

Search On

A drop-down list that indicates the field to search on:

  • Problem Code
  • Problem Description
Task Procedure
Search for Dental Problems
  1. Use the Criteria field and the Search On drop-down list to set the search parameters.
  2. Click the Search For Data () icon and review the results.

    3. Note: If your search has more than 100 results, a prompt displays. Click Yes to continue your search or click No to stop and change your criteria to narrow the results list.

Add Dental Problem Codes
  1. Click the Create a new Record () icon to display the Problem Code window.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click OK.
Edit Dental Problem Codes
  1. Search for and select a listed entry.
  2. Click the Edit Record () icon to display the Problem Code window.
  3. Make any necessary changes and click OK.

    4. Tip: You also can double-click a listed entry to display the Problem Code window.

Delete Dental Problem Codes
  1. Search for and select a listed entry.
  2. Click the Delete Record () icon.
  3. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Preview/Print Report
  1. (Optional) To preview the Dental Problem Codes report, click the Preview Report () icon.
  2. To print the Dental Problem Codes report, click the Print Report () icon.

    3. Note: The Dental Problem Codes report uses the Problem.rpt file.

Problem Code Window

(Maintenance > EHR > Dental Problem List > Problem Code)

The Problem Code window allows you to specify a problem code and the relevant information about it. It displays when you open the Dental Problem List window and click the Add a new Record () icon or select a listed drug and click the Edit Record () icon.

Field Description
Code

A text field that indicates the code that identifies the problem.

Important: Problems and headings display alphabetically based on the Code field.
Description

A text field that describes the problem.

Note: This information prints and displays to patients.

Node Desc

A text field that describes the problem or heading as it will display in the list.
Short Desc

A text field that indicates the short description of the problem. This optional field is used when searching.
Node Level

A drop-down list that indicates the node level for this record to display in the tree/list:

  • Level 1: This is the first level of the tree and can be assigned to problems or headings.
  • Level 2: This is the second level of the tree and can be assigned to problems.
  • Level 3: This is the third level of the tree and can be assigned to problems.

Reminder: Problems and headings display alphabetically based on the Code field.

Is this a Problem Code (not a header)?

A check box that, when selected, indicates that this record is a problem code.
Problem requires Site

A drop-down list that indicates whether a site is required for this problem:

  • No: This option indicates that sites are not used for this problem code.
  • Yes: This option indicates that site information is required for this problem code.
  • Optional: This option indicates that site information is optional for this problem code.

Note: This field is disabled when Is this a Problem Code (not a header)? is deselected.

Problem requires Surface

A drop-down list that indicates whether a surface is required for this problem:

  • No: This option indicates that surfaces are not used for this problem code.
  • Yes: This option indicates that surface information is required for this problem code.
  • Optional: This option indicates that surface information is optional for this problem code.

Note: This field is disabled when Is this a Problem Code (not a header)? is deselected.

Rank A text field that indicates the priority of a problem. This is meant to help staff prioritize appointments when scheduling.
Task Procedure
Add Problem Codes
  1. Complete the fields as necessary and click OK.

Edit Problem Codes

  1. Make any necessary changes and click OK.
