Clinical Note Colors Window

The Clinical Note Colors window allows you to specify colors available for use when working with notes.

axiUm has 14 system default colors that can be used in the note fields. You can review these colors and modify the list as required by your institution.

Note: You can specify a maximum of 49 colors in clinical notes.

Tips:

  • To avoid confusion, do not allow axiUm’s “unapproved” blue text color or other standard colors used in the EHR Display Options window to be used in clinical notes.
  • If users will copy/paste text from other programs (e.g., Word), and you want those colors retained, set the text colors in axiUm to match those used in the other programs.

    • Important: If users have access to the Select Custom Color >> button in the Select RTF Color window, text color from other programs is always retained. If users do not have access to the button, they must be given access to the colors used in the other program(s). If the color copied is not set in axiUm, the copied color text displays as black in the note.

Task Procedure
Add Clinical Note Colors
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Click the color bar to display the Color window.
  3. Select a color or use the Define Custom Colors >> button to set a custom color.
  4. Click OK to close the Color window.
  5. Click the Add a new Record () icon.

Edit Clinical Note Colors

  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.
Reorder Clinical Note Colors
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Click the Up and Down buttons to move the selected entry within the list.
Reset the Clinical Note Colors List
  1. Click the Reset button to restore the list to the original 14 color list.
Delete Clinical Note Colors
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
