Billing Codes Window

Billing codes are used to track monetary transactions related to an instrument.

Examples: A transaction can occur when an instrument is marked as lost or out of service and the student will be charged for the cost of the replacement, or when a deposit is accepted from the student prior to using dispensary instruments, or when a payment is received on the student's dispensary account.

The Billing Codes window allows you to create and manage the billing codes for use at your institution.

Field Description
Code

A text field that indicates the code that identifies the billing code.
Type

A drop-down list that indicates the type of adjustment:

  • Debit (+): This is used to charge the provider.
  • Credit (-): This is used to credit the provider.
Description

A text field that describes the billing code.
Print on Receipt

A check box that, when selected, indicates that items with this code should be printed on provider's receipt.
Task Procedure
Add Billing Codes
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Edit Billing Codes
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.
Delete Billing Codes
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Preview/Print Report
  1. (Optional) To preview the Dispensary Billing Codes report, click the Preview Report () icon.
  2. To print the Dispensary Billing Codes report, click the Print Report () icon.

    3. Note: The Dispensary Billing Codes report uses the dbillcd.rpt file.
