Fee Schedule Codes Window
Fee schedule codes are used to define fees for each procedure code, and are associated to providers (students, graduates, and faculty members), insurance coverage schedules, and even to a patient.
As a result, a procedure code generally has various fees associated to it.
The Fee Schedule Codes window allows you to manage the list of fee schedule codes, and specify the details for each code.
Fee Schedule Codes - Field Definitions
Code

A text field that indicates the code that identifies the fee schedule.

Inactive
|
A check box that, when selected, indicates the record is inactive and not in use. |
Description
|
A text field that describes the fee schedule. |
Fee Schedule Definitions Window
(Maintenance > Clinical > Fee Schedule Codes)
The Fee Schedule Definitions window allows you to specify the effective dates of the selected fee schedule. It displays when you open the Fee Schedule Codes window, select a listed fee schedule and click the Fee Schedule Definitions ( ) icon.
Fee Schedule Definitions - Field Definitions
Code

A disabled field that indicates the selected fee schedule.

Start Date
|
A calendar field that indicates the date that this fee schedule goes into effect.
|
End Date
|
A calendar field that indicates the date that this fee schedule ends. |
Fee Schedule Amounts Window
(Maintenance > Clinical > Fee Schedule Codes > Fee Schedule Definitions)
The Fee Schedule Amounts window allows you to configure the list of procedure code costs associated the to the selected fee guide during the selected date range. It displays when you open the Fee Schedule Definitions window, select a listed date range and click the Fee Schedule Amounts ( ) icon.
Fee Schedule Amounts - Field Definitions
Code

A disabled field that indicates the selected fee guide.

Dates
|
A drop-down list that indicates which Fee Schedule Definition displays for the selected fee guide.
|
Procedure
|
A text field that indicates the procedure code for this record.
The ellipsis is used to display the Procedure Code List window and select a procedure code.
|
Individual Charge
|
A check box that, when selected, indicates that this fee amount is discretionary and varies based on the difficulty of the case.
Note: This option causes the Add Special window to display when the procedure is approved to allow users to modify the amounts.

Amount
|
A text field that indicates the fee amount for this procedure.
Note: If Individual Charge is selected, this field represents the average amount for the procedure.
|
In Process Amount
|
This field indicates the amount to be billed when the procedure is in process but not
completed.
This is used for procedures that have multiple steps, require several
appointments, and/or have considerable costs involved.
Alternatively, your institution may
choose to bill at the start of all procedures.
