Required Fields Window

The Required Fields window allows you to manage the list of fields that users are required to fill out throughout axiUm.

Field Description
Type

A drop-down list to filter the results based on the type of record.

  • Patient
  • Recall
  • Guarantor
  • Prescription
Description

A text field that describes the required field template.

Example: Screening Patient.
Task Procedure
Review Required Field Templates
  1. Select the relevant value from the Type drop-down list to filter the results.
  2. Review the results.

    3. Tip: Selecting a template from the list will display all field requirements in the lower pane.

Add Required Field Templates
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Specify Field Requirements
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Required Field Definitions () icon to display the Required Field Definitions window.
  2. Make any necessary changes and close the window.
Edit Required Field Templates
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.
Delete Required Field Templates
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Preview/Print Report
  1. (Optional) To preview the Required Fields report, click the Preview Report () icon.
  2. To print the Required Fields report, click the Print Report () icon.

    3. Note: The Required Fields report uses the ReqFld.rpt file.

Required Field Definitions Window

(Maintenance > Basic > Required Fields)

The Required Field Definitions window allows you to manage the field requirements for the selected template and assign that template for use. It displays when you open the Required Fields window, select an entry and click the Required Field Definitions () icon.

Field Description
Type / Description

Disabled fields that indicate the selected required field template.
Selected Required Fields

A list of fields, based on the Type field, that can have requirements associated with them.

Tip: Entries highlighted in blue indicate required fields; non-highlighted entries are not required.

Task Procedure
Set Field Requirements
  1. Click an entry once to select it, and again to deselect it.
  2. Repeat for all fields as necessary and click the Modify Record () icon. .
Assign Field Requirements Templates
  1. Click the Required Field Assignments () icon to display the Required Field Assignments window.
  2. Make any necessary changes and close the window.

Required Field Assignments Window

(Maintenance > Basic > Required Fields > Required Field Definitions)

The Required Field Assignments window allows you to assign the selected required fields template for use in the selected practice/status combination. It displays when you open the Required Field Definitions window and click the Required Field Assignments () icon.

Field Description
Description

A disabled field that indicates the selected required field template.
Practice

A drop-down list that indicates the practice.

Note: This field is used in conjunction with the Status Code field to identify the practice/status settings that this required field template applies to.

Type

A disabled field that indicates the type of records that this template applies to.
Status Code

A drop-down list that indicates the Status Code for the selected type.

Note: This field is used in conjunction with the Practice field to identify the practice/status settings that this required field template applies to.

Task Procedure
Add Template Assignments
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.

  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.
