EDI Overview

The EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) module is comprised of one core axiUm module and several optional axiUm+ modules. Each component allows you to complete important financial tasks for your dental institution. EDI Claims is a core axiUm module that allows you to easily monitor patient procedures and submit insurance claims electronically. When accessed, the EDI window allows you to complete a variety of actions, including printing, submitting, or batching claims for processing later. You can also correct any errors that prevent a claim from being processed. You can directly open the EDI Claims module using one of the following methods:
The EDI window is divided into several tabs. Note: The number of tabs depends on which optional axiUm+ modules you have purchased and enabled.
Tip: You can also exclude a specific insurance company or group of insurance companies. EDI Remittance is an axiUm+ module that allows your institution to receive insurance claims electronically, and automates most of the process to alleviate common workload bottlenecks. The EDI Remittance module is accessed through the EDI Claims module > Remittance Responses tab. You can open the EDI Remittance module using one of the following methods:
Within the Remittance Responses tab, search fields and action buttons display in the upper pane, and remittance payment search results display in the in the lower pane. From this area, you can search for, load, and process EDI remittance files.
Lockbox Payments is an axiUm+ module that allows your institution to make agreements with third-party Lockbox companies so that patients can make their payments at their convenience.
